Built for drive-ins since 1966
Robiccon started in 1966 because drive-ins needed a reliable way to talk to their customers. We’re still doing that today — and we’ve modernized everything around it since.
Our story
In 1966, Steve Theos founded Speedway Ordering Systems to build drive-in communication equipment. Drive-ins were still figuring out how to take orders at the stall, and the company spent those early years working out what actually held up on a busy lot.
As point of sale became central to how QSRs run, that audio foundation grew into something bigger — order taking, kitchen management, and service signage working together as one system.
In the late 1990s, work with a major national drive-in brand led to the Robiccon 6, a system built specifically for drive-in QSR operations. It set the approach we’ve followed ever since: build around how drive-ins actually work, not how a spec sheet says they should.
Today Robiccon is an independent restaurant technology provider serving drive-in and QSR operators nationwide, with audio, point of sale, and digital signage systems proudly made in the USA.
